How cloud sync and backup work

Last updated 29 days ago

Cloud sync backs up your racing life — so a lost, broken, or upgraded phone doesn't cost you a season of data. It requires a Pro subscription and a signed-in account, and it's opt-in: until you sign in and go Pro, your sessions stay on your phone.

What syncs

  • Your sessions (including the original data files) and each session's track conditions
  • Your Garage vehicles, their setup sheets and setup history, and your tire checks (pressures, temperatures, wear tags, and photos) and personal tire sets
  • Your saved devices and profile

Videos you attach to a session stay on the phone that has them — they aren't backed up.

How it behaves

  • The app stays offline-first. Record and analyze at a track with no signal all day; sync catches up when you're back on a connection.
  • Sync is automatic while you're signed in, and you can trigger it manually with Sync now on the Backup card in Settings.
  • The Backup card shows where you stand — All backed up, or how many sessions are waiting to back up or have failed.
  • Sessions that exist only in the cloud (for example, after moving phones) show a cloud icon in Sessions — tap one to download it, or use Download all on the Backup card. See Move to a new phone.

Privacy

Sync is a backup of your data, for you. Your personal sessions are analyzed on your device; once they're backed up, our servers also work out a per-session summary for your Track history, so sessions that aren't on this phone still count. If you're part of a team or academy, sessions tagged to that team are also analyzed on our servers so coaches can review athlete performance. See Your data and privacy.

If sync reports a problem, see Cloud sync failed — what to check.
