Your data and privacy

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

LapperSnapper is built privacy-first, by architecture rather than by promise.

Analysis happens on your phone

Every personal session is parsed and analyzed on your device. Lap detection, coaching, track maps, video overlays — none of it requires sending your data to a server. Without an account, nothing you record leaves your phone unless you share a lap as a link. If you're part of a team or academy, sessions tagged to that team are also analyzed on our servers so coaches can review athlete performance.

Track conditions

Once you're signed in, the app sends each session's location and time to our weather service, which looks up the conditions at the track from OpenWeather. That's how the weather appears on a session's Setup tab.

What the cloud stores (only if you opt in)

With a Pro subscription and cloud sync enabled, we store your backup: session files, track conditions, vehicles and setup sheets, tire pressures, saved devices, and your profile, plus basic details of the device that synced (platform, OS, model, app version). Our servers also work out a per-session summary from your backed-up sessions, so your Track history includes sessions that aren't on this phone. See How cloud sync and backup work.

Share links

A shared lap is stored on our servers as an anonymous file keyed by an unguessable id; the link contains only that id, not the lap data itself. Links don't expire, and anyone with the link can look it up and view that lap — including its trace on the track map — so treat the link as sensitive. See Share a lap as a link.

Your controls

  • Sign out clears your data from a device — see Sign out without losing data.
  • Delete account permanently erases everything we store, with one exception for claimed academy driver profiles — see Delete your account.
