Team roles: Owner, Coach, Mechanic, and Driver

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

Every Team account has staff — an Owner and, optionally, Coaches and Mechanics — plus a roster of Drivers, whose sessions and vehicles the staff manage.

What Owners and Coaches can both do

  • Add drivers and edit their profiles, including contact details and private notes
  • Invite drivers to claim their profiles
  • Import sessions and tag each one to the driver who drove it
  • View every session logged under the team, and the team's Race engineer reports
  • Add Team vehicles and keep their setups and service history

What only the Owner can do

  • Rename the team or change its logo
  • Create and revoke staff invite codes (for a coach or a mechanic), and remove staff
  • Choose which drivers each mechanic looks after, and whether mechanics see every vehicle
  • Turn on Coaches can delete sessions (off by default) — the owner can always delete a Team session; coaches only while this is on
  • Archive a driver off the roster
  • Manage team billing — buy, change, or cancel the plan
  • Delete or archive the team

Mechanics

A mechanic works on the vehicles, not the drivers' records. They can open every Team session and its telemetry, edit setup sheets, set readiness, log service reports, and edit, archive or restore an existing vehicle. They can't add drivers or vehicles, invite anyone, import, tag or delete sessions, or see Race engineer reports — and they never see drivers' contact details, personal details or notes. See Adding a mechanic to your team.

An Owner can never leave their own team — only transfer or delete it. Coaches, mechanics and drivers can leave any time.

Drivers

A driver is whoever the team is tracking, claimed or not. Claimed and unclaimed drivers work a little differently — see the articles on driver profiles for the details.
