Assign sessions to a vehicle

Every session in your personal library can belong to one of your Garage vehicles. Assignment is designed to be mostly automatic — and never silent. If you're a driver linked to a coaching Team, sessions tagged to that team may not show the vehicle chip until your account is fully connected — that's expected, and doesn't affect your own vehicles.

Automatic assignment

• Device defaults: give a logger a default vehicle — Default vehicle for this device, in the dialog you get when you rename a saved device (see Rename or forget a saved device) — and every session downloaded from it files itself. If your MyChron lives on one kart, set it once and forget it.
• One vehicle: if your Garage has exactly one active vehicle, new imports are assigned to it.
• File hints: AiM session files often carry a vehicle name from the logger's own setup; the app uses it as a signal when suggesting an assignment.

Manual assignment

1. Open the session's Overview tab.
2. Tap the chip next to Vehicle (it reads Group by vehicle when empty).
3. Pick the machine from your Garage — or Leave ungrouped to clear it.

An ungrouped session's Setup tab offers the same Group by vehicle button.

Catch up on older sessions

When some sessions aren't grouped yet, the Garage shows a banner. Tap Group past sessions, choose a vehicle for each group (sessions are grouped by the vehicle name in their files), and tap Save groups. Nothing changes until you save.

What assignment gives you

• Filter your library by vehicle with the chip row in Sessions.
• Per-machine truth: personal bests, track history, and coaching compare like with like. A PB set in the shifter no longer hides your progress in the 100cc.
• Setup and tires: the session's Setup tab can show the heat it ran on, and tire readings use that vehicle's layout.

Tip

Thirty seconds assigning sessions at the end of a race day keeps a whole season's history clean.
