Change the app language

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

LapperSnapper's screens and its spoken lap announcements come in nine languages. On first launch the app uses your phone's language if it's one of them, and you can switch any time.

Languages

English, Български (Bulgarian), Deutsch (German), Ελληνικά (Greek), Español (Spanish), Français (French), Magyar (Hungarian), Italiano (Italian), and ไทย (Thai).

Steps

  1. Open the Settings tab. Team owners: tap your profile icon at the top of the Settings tab first, to open your personal settings.
  2. Tap Language.
  3. Pick a language. The app switches straight away.

How the app picks at first

Until you choose a language yourself, LapperSnapper matches your phone's language list each time it starts: the first language on it that the app supports wins, and if none is supported you get English. In a web browser, it matches your browser's languages the same way. Once you pick one in Language, the app keeps it.

Good to know

  • Voice announcements speak in the app language, using your phone's text-to-speech voice for it. If your phone has no voice for that language, announcements stay silent — add the voice in your phone's settings.
  • On Android, the notification shown while you record uses the app language too.
  • Your choice is saved on this device only. It isn't synced to your account, and it stays when you sign out.
  • Changing the language doesn't change your units — see Change your units (km/h, mph, bar, psi).
  • Race engineer is a name, so it reads the same in every language.
