Track readiness: Ready, Needs attention, Grounded

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

Readiness is a quick, honest snapshot of whether a driver's vehicle is fit to run — and it's entirely your call. LapperSnapper never sets it for you.

The statuses

  • Not assessed — the default until someone checks it.
  • Ready — good to run.
  • Needs attention — usable, but something's on your radar.
  • Grounded — not going out until it's addressed.

Each status can carry a free-text Readiness note, so "Grounded" isn't just a label — it can say why, and what needs to happen before it changes.

Changing it

  1. Tap the readiness chip — on the vehicle's row in the Team's Garage tab, or at the top of the vehicle's own page.
  2. Pick the new status from the Readiness sheet. It saves straight away; you need a connection.

To add or change the note, open the vehicle's Details tab and edit the vehicle — the Readiness note field lives in that form.

Why it's manual

Nothing in Team Garage sets readiness automatically. Logging a service report — even one describing a serious repair — never changes the status on its own. You set readiness yourself, based on your own judgment, and update it whenever that judgment changes.

Who sees it

The owner, coaches, and mechanics can set or change readiness. If the owner limits mechanics to their assigned drivers, a mechanic can only change it on those drivers' vehicles. A connected driver sees the current status and note on their own vehicle, read-only — see What your connected driver sees in Team Garage.
