Customize the overlay and export a clip

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

The overlay is built from five widgets — a speed dial, a lap info panel (number, clock, and delta together), the track map, an RPM gauge, and a G-force indicator — and you decide which ones show and where.

Customize the layout

  1. Open a session's Video tab.
  2. Tap Customize overlay (the grid icon in the video controls). Playback pauses.
  3. Drag widgets to reposition them — they snap to a grid, and a widget dropped on top of another snaps back. Tap a widget's chip (Speed, Lap Time, GPS for the track map, RPM, G-Force) to add or remove it. While editing, the screen stops responding to tab swipes so nothing jumps while you drag.
  4. Tap Save (Cancel discards your changes; Reset brings back the default layout). The layout is used for playback and export alike — what you see is exactly what exports.

Landscape and portrait videos each keep their own layout. A portrait video starts with speed, lap info, and the map; add RPM and G-force if you want them.

Export a lap clip

  1. Pick the lap you want with the lap picker (it starts on your best lap).
  2. Tap Export lap clip (the share icon in the video controls).
  3. The app renders the lap with the overlay burned in — audio kept, engine sound and all.
  4. Share the finished clip anywhere: it's a normal video file.

Export happens on your phone; the footage isn't uploaded anywhere. Exporting clips is free on every plan, in the iPhone and Android apps — the web app can't export video.

Tips

  • Keep the overlay sparse for social clips — speed, delta, and the map read well at feed size.
  • Sync the video before exporting if the overlay is out of step with the picture — see Watch your lap with a telemetry overlay.
