What are API keys?

API keys let you access the Forge REST API and MCP server programmatically. Use them to integrate with CI/CD pipelines, AI assistants, or custom tooling.

Requirements

• Pro plan on at least one product
• Owner or Admin role

Key format

Keys follow the format sf_live_ followed by a unique identifier. Example: sf_live_a1b2c3d4e5f6...

Security

• Keys are shown once at creation — save them immediately
• Only the hash is stored; the full key cannot be retrieved later
• Maximum 5 keys per account
• All API key operations require session auth (you must be logged in)

Permissions

API keys have owner-level access to all enabled products on your account.
