What happens when you claim your team profile

Last updated Sep 25, 2026

If a coach or team owner has sent you a code to claim your profile, here's exactly what happens when you redeem it — read this before you confirm, because afterwards the only way to stop sharing with the team is to leave it.

What claiming does

Claiming links a team's driver profile to your own Driver account and connects you to the team. When you confirm:

  • The team's recorded history for that profile — every session it logged for you — becomes yours, in your own account.
  • From then on, sessions you record or import while you're on the team are shared with it automatically, and sessions the team's staff import and tag to you land in your account too.
  • Your earlier sessions stay private unless you choose to share them. The consent screen lists the previous sessions on this device with nothing selected — tick any you want your coaches to see.

Before you confirm

The consent screen shows you exactly what's about to change hands — something like "47 sessions from the past 14 months will become yours." Read it, pick any earlier sessions you want to share, then tap Claim profile and join Team. Not now backs out without changing anything.

Going forward

While you're on the team, there's no setting to hide individual new sessions from coaches — the only way to stop sharing is to leave the team. See Leaving or removing a driver from a team.

One thing that stays with the staff: a coach's private notes about you are never shown in your app, even after claiming.
