MCP Connection Issues

Claude Desktop not connecting

  • Config syntax: Make sure the JSON in your MCP server config is valid. A missing comma or quote will prevent loading.
  • Restart required: After adding or changing MCP config, restart Claude Desktop completely.
  • API key: Verify your API key is valid (test with a curl command first).

Claude Code not connecting

  • Run claude mcp list to verify the server was added
  • Check the URL is exactly https://statusforge.net/api/mcp

Tools not showing up

MCP tools are only available for products you have enabled. If you don't see ChangeForge tools, make sure ChangeForge is enabled in Settings > Products & Plans.

Tool calls returning errors

  • "Invalid UUID": The AI may have hallucinated an ID. Ask it to list resources first, then use the returned IDs.
  • "Product not enabled": Enable the product in your dashboard settings.
  • 403 errors: Your API key may not have Pro access. Check your plan status.
